Crusader's outdoor 2025

  • Frosty as always, man the work you put in that garden puts ours to shame. Love raised beds coming out great. What material are you putting over for the plants for sunlight and keeping rain out.

  • Thanks @Danny! Me and Mr. Zeus are about ready to go finish the other bed and lay out the 6 cannabeds.  Lovely morning, already 60 out. Weather lady says its supposed to be almost 80 today!

I'll be using 6 mil uv resistant plastic sheeting with wiggies wire and track to hold it in place

  • Veggies are coming in. Lots of marigolds too. I got one variety thats supposed to get 2' tall. Those should keep the bugs away! That and the onions lol.

  • Got the other bed done, and filled it with composted soil. Raked out the top part for the corn. Almost ready to ammend the beds now

  • My wife left me unattended at the store.

Picked up mushroom compost for the beds too

  • Rainy day today. Mr Zeus has been sleeping all day waking up only to check the weather and munch a few treats. The rain cleared for a minute when my wife went to work around 6, and by the time I got the music, bong, drink, and leash set up.... you know who was meowing at me through the kitchen window.

We got to topdressing the beds today.

Measurements for outdoor is solo cup

Small bed got 1 solo each of

    Dolomite Lime

    8-5-1 prowell tomato

    3-4-4 garden tone

    4-6-3 dr earth homegrown

    1 bag mushroom compost

    2 shovels of innoculated Charcoal

    Bigger beds got double that

Dry amendments down first, then a bag or two of mushroom compost.

Then comes the Charcoal. Some chunks I left big. Most of it is smashed up pretty well.

Next, we work that into the first 4 or 5 inches of soil with the garden rake.

Then we cover everything with a layer of leaves we saved from last fall so the worms and microbes can break all that crap down for our plants to eat.

My feet were soaked, so was Zeus. It was bath time for sure. Time for his monthly flea medications too anyways.

Tune in next time when we set the beds for our cannabis plants!

  • @CannabisCrusader Brave soul you are to wash a cat 🙀 without getting clawed to death. My 2 boys would be uncooperative to even get their bottoms washed from the runs 🤣

    Teddy (left) Leo (right)

  • @Dankmaster happy little fluff balls! I willed him into submission when he was little. Same with the harness. He used to cry nonstop in the car. We just turned the music up and little another joint. Went Petty on his ass lol. Now he jumps in the car and he can't wait to go... until theres a big truck, or the windows are Cracked open. Then he hides under a seat somewhere

  • @Dankmaster my wife said she will pay the shipping for your rag dolls. She deeply understands that you might have difficulty finding another place with your cats. It is with the deepest of sympathy that she takes your cats and "gives them everything"

  • Busy day. Zeus got another victim

  • Working on the front lawn while it's been raining. My wife and I had to park on the side of the house on the lawn this winter because we couldn't all fit in the driveway. So, it was a lumpy mess over there with tire ruts a foot deep. It's easier to bust up the lumps when they're wet. What a pain in the ass!

As soon as it stopped raining I got to work putting some of the cannabis beds in.

Notice all the levels. I'm German/Irish. The German part of me needs everything to be done to perfection. The Irish part wants everything done tomorrow so he can just get high all day. It's a constant struggle to even get started sometimes!

3 done, 3 more to go. I have 3 more cement anchors to bury too. Then we can get to ammending these beds. I think i need to dig each one out, then back fill them with dirt drom the old plots. Moving holes... boy thats fun. Sounds like an Army thing. My late buddy Chuck could have done that for me, he was in the Army.

  • Hey brother been following along and enjoying how you are setting everything up. You have definitely planned this out and i am beyond envious for your gardens. I can only hope to get there one day haha

i wanted to jump in though and say how great it was to read how you thought of your late friend Chuck who was in the Army. Made me smile reading it, have a great weekend and happy growing.

  • @MAC

Appreciate that! It's been a lot of tare down and rebuild. This is version 3.0 and hopefully the last until I move. I might add another raised bed next year... maybe just fill it with actual flowers? Idk

I'm going to post a bunch of pictures from when it started 4 or 5 years ago to now so you can get an idea of how long it took to get to this point. Keep in mind, every time I thought I was done.

My buddy Chuck came to me as a first year apprentice fresh from serving in Afghanistan. I got sick of people treating him like crap because he was a first year apprentice. I'd ask them... " you ever kill anyone for your freedom, or you just run your mouth and enjoy it every day? This "kid" has ended lives. I wouldn't push his buttons. " Took him under my wing and showed him the trade. We remained friends after that. I was always the one he called for $50 after he just got out of jail for fighting.

One day he got a bad batch of blow laced with fentynol. He went down and smashed his head on a rock while out fishing.

Now, I ask myself..   who the fuck does cocaine while fishing? I'm going to go relax and fish with some cocaine... said nobody ever. Can you just imagine how many times he casted and reeled it back in? You think he caught anything?

So, now he hangs out in my sunglasses holder in my car. He holds my sunglasses (he is still my apprentice after all) when they're not in there, I go "Chuuuuck!!! Where the fuck are my subglasses!?! You have one fucking job God damnit!!!"

Anyways. I'm going to name a strain after him
